Catherine Van Rompaey
Catherine is Director of the National Economic Accounts Division at Statistics Canada. In this position, she oversees a wide range of macroeconomic statistical programs, including the quarterly gross domestic product and institutional sector accounts, labour productivity, capital stock, satellite accounts and special studies. With over 25 years in the field of national accounts, she has also been responsible for industry accounts and supply and use tables along with household level survey programs on income, consumption and wealth. She has been an active participant in IARIW conferences since the year 2000, contributing papers on topics such as pensions and wealth, SNA implementation and distributions of household economic accounts. She currently serves as a bureau member for the OECD working party on national accounts and has contributed to a number of international manuals on topics such as non-profit institutions and the compilation of supply and use tables.
