General Information:

  • Flashdrives aren’t allowed to be used at the National Bank of Belgium. Papers/slides will all have to be uploaded to Oxford Abstracts and accessed via the IARIW program site during the conference to present. Here is a guide with step-by-step instructions on how to do that. That means that whatever is uploaded to the site needs to be the final version of your presentation. If you need to make changes after Sunday, 23 August, please email info@iariw.org.
  • Uploads in PPT or PDF only. Please doublecheck your upload afterwards to make sure it renders correctly. If it includes audio, animation or anything else unusual, please let us know. Do not include any password protected files. Please include the name of your session, the day and time, and the discussant’s name in the file name.
  • The deadline to upload papers for discussants to read to Oxford Abstracts is 31 July (authors can also upload presentation slides to help the discussants). The deadline for discussants to upload slides to Oxford Abstracts is 19 August. The deadline to upload posters to Oxford Abstract for printing is 10 August.
  • The only person who can upload to Oxford Abstracts is the submitter of the paper; most submitters are also the presenter of the paper. Please make sure to send that person any updates to the abstract, the full paper for the discussant, and discussant slides/presentation materials. An email will be sent to all authors on the paper with the contact info for the submitter, please refer to that email. If you still need their email address, please reach out to info@iariw.org.

Role Specific Information

  • Paper Presenters: Please make sure that your full paper is uploaded to Oxford Abstracts or send your paper directly to your discussant by 31 July. An email will be sent to all authors on the paper with the contact info for the submitter, please refer to that email. If you still need contact info for your submitter, please reach out to info@iariw.org.
  • Poster Presenters: Posters will be printed in Brussels and delivered to the conference. This means you will not need to bring a printed poster to the conference. To accommodate printing, please post a pdf file of your poster (in A0 size, 84.1 x 118.9 cm, portrait orientation preferred), on the Oxford abstract portal by 10 August. If you cannot upload it, you can send it to
  • Discussants: Please make sure that your slides for presentation during the conference are uploaded by 19 August. The submitter of the paper is the only one that can upload the slides so please send to your submitter for upload. An email will be sent to all paper authors/discussants on the paper with the contact info for the submitter, please refer to that email. If you still need contact info for your submitter, please reach out to info@iariw.org.
  • Chairs: At the IARIW Conference, the discussant for each paper presents the paper. For the timing of the session, IARIW suggests that the discussant get 18-20 minutes to present the paper, the audience gets 5 minutes to ask questions, and the author gets  5-7 minutes to respond.
